Lake Louise and the Post Hotel hold a special place in my heart - if I could call anywhere on earth home, this would be it. It's pure magic. The scenery is breathtakingly beautiful, and the hotel is cozy beyond words. Whether you visit in the spring, summer, fall, or my personal favorite, winter, you're in for an unforgettable experience. Here's a little bit of history to add to the enchantment: originally named the Lake Louise Ski Lodge, the Post Hotel first opened in 1942. It was built by Jim Boyce, a renowned guide and packer from Banff, who sourced the logs for the lodge from Revelstoke and the headwaters of the Bow River. Remarkably, with a crew of just 10 men and mostly hand tools, building was completed in a very short time. However, due to the war and other factors, the hotel had to close soon after its opening and didn't reopen until 1948. Go to their website, now, and dream with me!

I have to say, Hotel 1898 in Barcelona has a special place in my heart. It's not exactly around the corner, but it's easily one of my favourite vacation spots.
